Blanket.

The name. The look. The content. The quality. This is a fairly beautiful product. It also has a bonus feature, a news feed which is disappointingly absent on other sites. It brings your attention to some visual treats or interesting goings on internationally. I would definitely spend time making pictures for these guys. Two submission opportunities, one- a call for a singular image for each issue, two- a general self promotional chance of up to six images. Check it.

I really don't have a lot more to say here than seriously. Get involved. It is a bible of fit links.

Frame Lines Magazine.

This is more of a mixed bag in relation to others. It has ethics beyond showcasing pretty images. Diversity, soul exposing creations, meaningful stuff. Which is great if you're well into that. It looks to showcase art, design, poetry, fiction, lifestyle, environment, current affairs, music, surf, skate and street features (its Australian). The pages are well done, there is no doubt about their passion in creating each edition. Their choice of format, a pdf beast, is all about green power and not wasting resources. I can't help but have a thing about hand held publications of creations. I am torn to their point. But I miss the aesthetic. But its informative, interesting, creative, damn good quality and showcases a high level of all of the elements highlighted above. Definitely worth a look.

I have to admit I love this publication. Often found lurking in the magazine section in various stores, though it definitely strays closer to a well made book on contemporary arts. Good quality, continually refreshing and showing work of a high quality. I would be proud to have my work grace its pages.
Have a look here, it is open to submissions, using the perfect line: 'You are free to contribute and Rojo is free to choose.' The standards of the work inside these books makes me stop and consider whether I would be good enough and in relation to that, want to do something better.

This little beaut was one of the first of many discoveries into the world of PDF magazines. This format is becoming increasingly popular not only due to the current pinch of finances many are feeling, but also as a simple, quick and accessible way to circulate work and get it out there. The web is basic and to the point, the pages in the magazine speak for themselves. Check it out here. They have regular calls for contributions to a running theme.

In no particular order...

I am not yet in a position to claim favourites. My intents here are to rinse my ever expanding bookmarks and share the knowledge gained through hours of trawling over the internet. I do not wish this activity on anyone. But there is a lot of stuff here. I will discuss briefly the finer pints to each and link up to where you can find more information. Enjoy.
